  • Overview

    Our program is designed to provide Interns with a real-world look at banking. An internship with Fulton Financial Corporation will provide you with valuable experience in a broad array of banking operations. Under close supervision of designated supervisor, is responsible for observing Bank policies and procedures to acquire a working knowledge of a specific function/department of the Bank’s operation and services. Specific activities vary by assignment. A wide range of college majors are considered based on specific needs of department such as: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computing and Security Technology, Economics, Informatics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Accounting, Business Analytics majors.

     

    Our Chief Data Office Intern will work alongside other IT staff to assist with general data-related lights-on activities and projects related to the development and maintenance of quality data sources for Fulton’s many business lines.

     

    Possible areas of interest include: data architecture, data engineering, data analytics, Big Data, data visualization data quality, SQL, data governance, data quality, source to target mapping, and general information technology best practices.

     

    Internship will begin in January, 2019.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties

    • Performs assigned duties in designated department to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance.
      • Assists IT Team Members with a data program built to establish and empower data structures across the business and IT.
      • Participates in daily stand-up meetings and weekly sessions
      • Keeps track of the requests that will be coming in a short time frame.
      • Participates in self-driven projects in areas of interest for staff
    • Reports on progress in internship program and feedback about program to manager. Management feedback must indicate satisfactory progress to remain in Internship Program. Duration of program may vary.
    • Intern may participate in Career Training/Education as needed, as well as, professional networking events.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    Education

    High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Specialty: Fulton interns will be expected to have completed, or currently enrolled and in the process of completing, a 4 year college degree at an accredited college or university.

     

    Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computing and Security Technology, Economics, Informatics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Accounting, Business Analytics (Required).

     

    Strong academic performance is required. Preference will be offered to rising sophomores and juniors (for summer), and juniors/seniors for fall. Would have completed a minimum of one semester freshman year and at least 15 or more credits. (Required)

    Experience

    0 to 6 months Experience requirements will match the needs of the assigned department. Previous work experience, leadership experience, and community involvement preferred. (Preferred)

     

    0 to 6 months previous work experinece in a professional business setting. (Preferred)

     

    0 to 6 months SQL experience in a professional business setting. (Required)

     

    Additional Requirements

     

    Successful applicants will have a technical skillset, but also be comfortable working one-on-one with business users to build relationships and have a familiarity with databases, corporate environments, and be able to adapt to working in a fast-paced team environment.
